The Learning Curve Academy recognizes that good nutrition and regular physical activity affect the health and well-being of all students. Furthermore, research suggests that there is a positive correlation between a student’s health and well-being and his/her ability to learn. Moreover, schools can play an important role in the development process by which students establish their health and nutrition habits and promoting increased activities both in and out of schools.

The Learning Curve Academy is committed to creating school environments that promote and protect the overall well-being of all students and staff. The Learning Curve Academy has established a healthy school team that will meet bi-annually, consisting of teachers, students, parents, and is open to the community, to plan ways to ensure compliance and facilitate the implementation of The Learning Curve Academy wellness policy. Civil rights training occurs two weeks prior to the beginning of each school year. The Learning Curve Academy now serves FREE meals to every student.

The Learning Curve Academy promotes USDA guidelines which require that children get the recommended amount of fresh fruits and vegetables each day. Students will learn how to grow their own organic garden and learn how to cook the food they grow. Students who eat healthily improve their grades.

Our future horticulture greenhouse will be built in 2020. There, our students will learn how to plant and cultivate what they have grown.

Our nutrition specialist is offering monthly meetings to parents on gardening and nutrition that will help promote wellness and prevent obesity, as well as chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease, and conditions such as ADD/ADHD, autism, and bipolar disorder.

Poor nutrition contributes to micronutrient deficiency, which is the root of all illness. Come and join us in learning about proper nutrition. Our staff, Marie Rankin, BS RN, and Paula Hilbert, BS CHES, are available to answer your questions on supplements that can increase mental clarity, improve cognitive function, stress, anxiety, and hyperactivity.
